Born in Australia in 2004, Thomas and his family immigrated to the U.S in 2006. Always having a love for music at a young age, he began private composition study in 6th grade with his band directors and choir teachers in Columbus, OH, and eventually began to arrange for show choir instrumentalists across the U.S at the age of 17. As a bassist, his first professional gig was at the age of 12, beginning to play pit orchestra shows with community theaters and semi-professional companies around central Ohio.

He attended Bowling Green State University, where he graduated in 2026 with degrees in music composition, and jazz studies. He studied composition with composers Christopher Dietz, Marilyn Shrude, and Piyawat Louillarpprasert. He studied jazz composition with professors David Bixler, and Ariel Kasler, and double bass with Jeff Halsey and Aidan Plank. 

An accomplished composer, with over a dozen pieces being selected for call for scores, he has had premieres of his works across the world, notably with premieres of his works by the San Fransisco Chamber Players, The New Jazz Orchestra, The Toledo Symphony Orchestra, FLYDLPHN ensemble, Else if Else ensemble, and more. He has also been a finalist at the International Clarinet Association call for scores twice (2024,2025), and was selected for the soundScape Festival in Blonay, Switzerland in 2026. 

Currently, Thomas is a pursuing a masters degree at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he is the graduate assitant for the jazz bass studio, and a teaching assistant for the New Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Dave Rivello. He currently studies double bass with Jeff Campbell, and composition with Dave Rivello. A freelance arranger and transcriber, he arranges for several show choirs around the United States, and does freelance transcribing work for other arrangers and composers across the country.
