Thomas was born in Sydney, Australia, in 2004 and immigrated to The United States in 2005. Thomas showed an early interest in music, as he was involved in the choir program and theatre program at his elementary school. Thomas's love for music continued to grow throughout his life, as he continued to get more and more involved with his middle school and high school music programs. He was an avid participant of music in his high school. He participated in marching band as a tenor saxophonist and drum major, concert band as a bass clarinetist and tenor saxophonist, jazz band as a bassist and guitarist, and show choir combo as the bassist. His love for music in high school led him to study at Bowling Green State University, where he currently studies Music Composition and Jazz Studies under Dr. Christopher Dietz, and studies upright bass under the instruction of Aidan Plank, and piano under Ariel Kasler. He also is on staff at Marysville High School, as the Swingers Unlimited, Swingers Select, and Bunsold Mini Swingers instrumental combo director, where he leads a group of 25 high school instrumentalists.
In terms of his compositions, Thomas has written for The Toledo Symphony, Else, if Else ensemble, and was a finalist in the International Clarinet Association's call for scores in 2024. As a bassist, he is involved with many ensembles at BGSU, including the New Music Ensemble, Lab I, and a jazz combo as well. Outside of the university, Thomas maintains a busy schedule, regularly performing in wedding bands, jazz bands, pit orchestras, music directing, and more.Â
